LID Technologies rebranding from LDL Technology marks a defining moment in our company’s history. Founded in 2004, LDL Technology spent nearly two decades developing high-quality, technologically advanced wireless systems for the automotive industry. Then, on January 1st 2023, a new chapter began. Our company became LID Technologies — and this is the story behind that transformation.
A Company Built on Quality and Sustainability
From day one, our philosophy has been clear: deliver products that meet the highest technical standards while respecting the environment. We have always designed components that comply with automotive regulations. Moreover, sustainability has been a core priority — not an afterthought.
In 2022, LDL Technology celebrated its 18th anniversary. It was also the year we knew a change was coming. We had grown, evolved, and developed a new vision for what our brand should represent. Turning 18 felt like the right moment to enter adulthood — the right way.
Why We Chose the Name LID
The name LID Technologies was not chosen lightly. After careful consideration, we chose “LID” because it carries three equally meaningful interpretations:
L’IDée — The Idea In French, LID echoes L’IDée — the idea.
Innovation and world-premiere concepts are at the heart of everything we do. We have plenty of ideas here, and we intend to keep generating them.
LEAD — Market Leadership (English) In English, LID sounds like LEAD.
This reflects the position we have earned across several fields — wireless technologies, TPMS, and telematics solutions — where we are recognised as a global leader.
Low Impact Development — Environmental Commitment.
Finally, LID stands for Low Impact Development. Given the strong environmental focus of our products — particularly our TPMS solutions and their role in reducing CO2 emissions — this meaning felt like an obvious and necessary choice.
Technologies, in the Plural
We deliberately chose “Technologies” in its plural form. This reflects our commitment to pursuing innovation across multiple areas — not just one product, one market, or one technology. Therefore, the full name — LID Technologies — captures both who we are and where we are headed.
A New Identity for a New Era
The LID Technologies rebranding from LDL Technology produced more than a new name. It delivered a more dynamic, modern identity — with a refreshed visual language that reflects this new era for our company and for everyone who has contributed to building the LID family.
Our values, however, remain unchanged. We will continue to develop, industrialise, and commercialise smart, wireless embedded electronic systems — as we have done for over 20 years. Furthermore, we are actively working on more innovative and secure products that embody everything LID stands for.
